In this workshop, we will introduce a framework for the pursuit, identification, and uses of several choice edible mushrooms found around Jackson Hole. We will learn about the phenology and preferred habitat for morels, boletes and chanterelles and review some strategies to maximize your enjoyment in the woods! The workshop will feature a discussion of the ethics of harvesting wild foods and conclude with some helpful information on how to cook and preserve specimens from these most sought after genera. There may even be a few fresh mushrooms to try for yourself!
